About Us
Granar Tarım was founded in 2020 with one idea that has not changed since: to put certified seed in the grower’s hands — seed with a known data sheet and a known performance.
Since 2022 we have been the Türkiye and Azerbaijan distributor for the French breeding house Agri Obtentions. Production, import, export and domestic marketing all run under one roof. With our partner company’s 40 years in the seed industry behind us, our focus is on delivering dependable, certified seed to growers.
Today our contract-production network spans 150 growers and 8,000 decares across Ankara, Eskişehir, Konya and Afyon; our alfalfa is grown in Aksaray. Every step from field to bag is on record, and every lot is certified.
Five of the varieties we produce are registered in our own name: Renan, Tigre, Ramata, Manava and Assas. Sinanbey is a Turkish variety registered to the Field Crops Central Research Institute, Mirna was bred by the BC Institute in Croatia, and Central and Cebios are imported. Whichever you choose, its data sheet is waiting on its own page.
How the seed is produced
Certified seed production is a yearly cycle, and every step of it is on record.
Autumn. Seed goes out to our contract growers. Sowing follows each variety's own calendar.
Spring. Fields are inspected and any weeds are cleaned out — in seed production purity matters as much as yield. Provincial Directorate of Agriculture staff carry out their own inspection and yield estimates are drawn up.
July. Harvest is usually in early July and the seed comes in to the plant, where it is screened, treated and bagged.
Certification. Provincial Directorate staff draw a sample from the lot and send it to the laboratory. Germination, purity and weed-seed analyses are done externally, at an authorised laboratory. If the result is sound, the lot is certified.
The bag label carries the variety name, the lot number and the fact that the seed is treated. If you want the analysis figures for a particular lot, call us with the lot number and we will look it up.
